The Beast Within (Greater Manifestation Training)

The Valley of the End had become a regular place for Fauna to train, but whenever she was training something new, she wanted to make sure it didn't get others involved in case it caused additional damage then she was expecting, but this was something else as the recent events to the village told her she needed to get stronger as her techniques, although usually strong techniques, didn't even register to the eight tails and she couldn't allow herself to become so helpless again and so, she came here to evolve her technique to the next level.

She slid down the waterfall using the water walking technique and landed gracefully on the rocks on the river before. She took a deep breath and channeled lightning chakra around herself, forming into its typical form with her hair raising up with the lightning, forming horns, the small tail of lightning from the back and the aura surrounding her body.

"I have to make it evolve and if the history is to be true, then I must get it stronger, strong enough to face enemies and protect the people I care about" She said to herself before she dashed forwards with the lesser aura's enhanced to start warming up, needing to come to grips with pushing it even father then before.

Kirei had elected to keep his acquisition of the Rinnegan to himself, as opposed to informing his father. While the man wanted nothing but the best for his son, he knew it would be viewed as a valued asset to the clan and would no doubt cause more problems than needed. Regardless, he needed to train his eyes should he ever be pushed to needing to use them. He made his way to a safe distance from the village to train, he didn't know exactly what all he could do, so it would be best to keep a safe distance. As he arrived, he sensed a familiar chakra signature, it was the teacher from before. Approaching in a manner so as to not startle her, he would make his presence known. "Yo, Sensei-chan! How are you?" Of course he was aware of the bijuu attack, it was difficult to be ignorant of such things when the village was only now beginning its rebuilding and there were countless memorial services being held to this day, only a handful of them even having bodies to bury with the rest having been so unrecognizable they had to be burned. It was a tragedy, but nothing would motivate one for training more than a tragedy. He also knew of the valiant efforts of the three who battled the beast until it was taken away by that strange man who also simply vanished. This Sensei was one who took the fight directly to the beast and that was impressive to say the least.

After dashing around a while, she heard a familiar voice and stopped, spinning around to see Kirei there; she was so caught up training, she hadn't noticed him approach and she stop and shot over to him with lighting still coursing around her body in its typical demonic form and probably the first time Kirei had seen her lightning style: lesser aura of the lightning devil before.

"Kirei? I wasn't expecting to see you here again. Oh, don't take that as a bad thing, just didn't think we'd be meeting at the same place twice. What brings you here, dear?" She said softly, although her sensory ability felt something...strange about Kirei, she wasn't sure exactly what was different, but something was different from the last time their sparred.

Kirei was mesmerized by her current lightning form. As a lightning user himself, he found the form intriguing and very similar to the tales he had heard about the lightning release armor. It certainly seemed to have an effect on her speed, and he had no doubt it effected her abilities in other ways as well. Definitely something to take note of. "I came out to train, same as you, it would seem. I heard about what you did to defend the village, it takes extreme bravery to rush into battle with a monster like that. Thank you, Sensei." He would then decide that it was time they had a real spar. "Sensei, what do you say we have another spar, no Genjutsu this time, only ninjutsu and taijutsu." He wouldn't use any underhanded tactics this time, he truly wanted to have an interesting matchup and he would be sure to give it his all. Should she accept, he would get into a fighting stance and would give her the 'bring it' motion.

She smiled sweetly at his praise and thanks for her attempt to fight the eight tails during its appearance in the village, although in truth, she was barely a distraction, but it was nice to feel that she was appreciated for her efforts anyway.

"Thank you, dear; I simply couldn't let it continue bringing the people I care about and the children I care for to harm" She said softly. He then asked about having another spar, this one simply ninjutsu and taijutsu, no genjutsu and she nodded.

"Gladly dear, in fact, I've been to try something out for a while. You see, what you see before you is only the first stage of this jutsu's evolution and after studying and working out the logistics, I believe I know what I must do to evolve it, so if your ready...I believe it's time to try it out" She said as the red lightning around her body started to convulse and violently quiver around her as vast amounts of lightning chakra start to pour out around her body, lifting her upwards and before Kirei's eyes, the lightning chakra began to form into a large arm with clawed fingers, then another and then a third at the back, holding a staff with a lightning orb on it and then, it started forming a torso around Fauna and formed into legs, very basic with only three clawed toes and lastly, a faceless head with demon horns as the air was filled with ozone from the charged air around it as the glowing red lightning construct fully formed in front of him, looking like a very weak, but full body susanoo.

"This...This is it's next evolution, this is...Lightning Style: Greater Manifestation of the Lightning Devil" She called out from inside it as it gave a inhuman cry as it faced Kirei.

Kirei would nod as she spoke and then activated a rather large chakra construct made from lightning chakra. It would seem that she wasn't going to be holding back, neither would he. He did wish to keep his new powers a bit more secret, but it would seem that he would never get a better opportunity to train them than now. He would nod to himself more than her as his rinnegan would pulse to life. He would then activate the legendary Susano'o. The black and white skeletal construct would rise into the air around Kirei, its body seemingly coated in a ragged cloak of chakra bearing a hood that shadowed its eyes leaving only two glowing white orbs showing and then the lower half of its skeletal face. Its hands were empty, no weapon having manifested just yet. The construct would seem to be roughly the same height as Fauna's lightning beast, except only the top half of Kirei's was showing above the ground, the bottom half having not manifested yet as Kirei was still standing on solid ground. He would look across and up to where Fauna was hovering, "That is an impressive technique! This is all I have at the moment that can counter that to any degree. Don't hold back on me sensei!"

As she watched, she felt his chakra change as something awakened, something she thought she'd never see outside of lord Tsukikage: The Rinnegan and as much as she'd like to believe they were some kind of genjutsu to throw her off, there was no mistaking the purple irises and multi-ring pupils that characterised the Rinnergan; a legendary dojutsu and it was incredible, yet she remembered that he didn't have before and it had only been maybe a few days since their last meeting and mentally, she wondered how he gained the Rinnegan in such a short space of time. But right now, it wasn't the time for questions as something else appearance that up to that point, she had only read about in history books and what inspired the creation of her Greater Manifestation evolution of her lightning devil jutsu: the Susanoo as it came around Kirei and formed into a impressive skeletal, cloaked figure, although it's arms remained empty for the time being as Kirei explained that this was the best he could against her Greater Manifestation jutsu and to not hold back and if she was honest, that was probably the best she could do as the sheer power she was feeling from his Susanoo alone was immense, but she shouldn't of been surprise of its power, considering the Rinnegan.

"As you wish, Kirei, although I'd admit, I'm surprised to see you able to perform the Susanoo, so forgive me for being a bit taken back, but I'll do my best, although this is the first time I've ever used this evolved form, so it may take me a little bit to get the hang of controlling it since I tried to model it after the very technique I see before me, I just hope it works" She explained before the demonic construct gave a roar as lightning coursed through its body and using the lightning, she used it to puppeter the construct into going where she wanted to as its large feet started walking towards Kirei and his Susanoo, it's steps making large thumps sounds and as it stepped off, it left scarred ground as if the ground was hit by lightning as she came forwards and prepared to use one of the construct's arms to strike the ribcage of the Susanoo to gauge the strength of it and on making contact, would cause lightning to shot out to enhance its attack further, although at the moment, she had no idea how this attack would even function, so this was all a big test to see what the construct was capable of.

Kirei would simply stand, trusting in his susano'o to defend against the blow. He would not move to defend, nor would he move to dodge. He would merely stand as the fist connected with the center mass of his susano'o. The blow would cause a slight shockwave to explode out from the connection spot. There would be no movement from the susano'o, it would seem the legends were true, its defensive capabilities were unmatched. Once he had taken a moment to marvel at the insane defense, he would then push her construct with one of the skeletal arms. He didn't know how powerful his own technique was, nor did he know just how powerful her technique was. So the shove would come at the full strength of his own construct, which was quite powerful to say the least. He would then wait for her to react following the previously described event. He was simply allowing her to test her jutsu after all, not to really kill each other.

It's fist connect dead center, yet, like with her attempts to fight the eight tails, it did nothing against its sheer defensive power. It didn't take Kirei long to respond to her attack as its arm came straight for her, blowing her backwards and the sheer strength of it tore the arm off the construct, causing it to howl as the arm crashed to the earth and erupted in a explosion, similar to when a lightning style: shadow clone explodes, which although strong, would do nothing in the face of Susanoo's absolute defense. As she was sent backwards by the force of Kirei's Susanoo, she just felt frustration well up.

"Damn it! is this my fate? that no matter what I face, I always seem to fail...damn, I have to stop myself from moving back, the force of Kirei's Susanoo is unimaginable, yet just as the legends foretold, I got to get back control...come on, think" She cursed to herself as she flew back before she gritted her teeth, almost appearing to bare fangs now as her eyes became slits.

"No! I'm not giving this up now!" She growled as lightning flashed around her body and now, using her body as the center, she had the construct follow her exact movements as she planted its feet into the ground, causing it to tear up the ground as she moved and forced the staff into the ground along with the other arm and with its combined force, managed to stop herself altogether.

"Got it, if I connect myself to it and use the lightning like a nervous system, I can control it much better and, as a added benefit to this, because this is made of lightning, I can reform anything lost" She said softly, more to herself then Kirei as lightning crackled around the broken arm and as they both watched, the clawed arm reformed from the lightning chakra poured into it. She then pulled the staff from the ground and from her position, aimed the staff at Kirei.

"Time to test out this, now fire" She called out before the orb gathered a large amount of lightning chakra before blasting a bolt of lightning straight at Kirei's Susanoo to see what effect it had.

Her construct was no match for the power of his Susano'o, but she held strong. It would seem that she was determined and he would respect that tenacity. He would watch on with interest as she halted herself from his push and then reformed her arm. It was interesting to be able to reform the construct after it had taken damage. She then charged up a bolt of lightning in the ball at the end of her staff. He had to admit, it was certainly a powerful and versatile ability, but in the end, Susano'o could stand up to it. The bolt of lightning was certainly powerful, it spread electricity around the area and around his own construct, but it was unable to break his defense. He would speak loud enough for her to head him clearly, "You'll have to hit me harder than that!" He had to admit, part of him wanted her to be able to push his defense, he wanted to push himself as well.

As expected, the lightning bolt barely phased Susanoo as the lightning bolt tore up the area around it, but Kirei and Susanoo were left practically untouched. She scowled as Kirei told her to hit him as hard as she could. The problem was that she was; the defensive power of Susanoo was too strong for her construct to break through alone...suddenly, she had a idea and had the demonic construct stand up.

"If that's what you want, then I'll come at you with everything I'll have and see if I can break through your absolute defense" She said as the construct mimicked her movements as she crossed her arms and as she did so, the horns on the construct lit up red along with a spot on what would be its spine.

"Third Gate: Gate of Life, Open!" She called out as her chakra burst forth around her as she opened the third gate, causing her skin to turn red like a oni before she made a all familiar hand sign.

"Lightning Style: Shadow Clone Jutsu" She called out and in a burst of lightning formed seven other clones, all gated and within matching constructs. They stepped out towards Kirei like the gates of hell just opened and demons were pouring out.

"How about instead of trying to break your Susanoo's defense alone, how about a all-out assault by all eight of us?" She said before she brought down her gated construct's fists against the ribcage of Susanoo with the other seven throwing powerful punches at it, all in a attempt to make any headway towards even breaking into Susanoo.

Kirei knew she had more to give and he was certainly correct. She seemed to gain a new resolve with his words and immediately he felt her power skyrocket. She was several times stronger now, he could tell. Not only that, but she created several clones all of which he could feel shared her strength. He may actually have to try some now after all. Her clones and the original would all rush him, moving at a speed faster than he could attain himself without the use of some powerful jutsu. She then began an all out assault, each clone pounding on the rib cage that surrounded him, he had to admit it was straining. The Susano’o began to crack under the pressure of her attacks. He knew that he could activate a further level, but he also didn’t want to push too far. The moment the barrier was about to break, the susanoo would swing its arms around, no doubt destroying the clones and dealing moderately heavy damage to the originals construct. He made sure not to use his full strength this time just enough that he felt necessary to destroy the clones and end the assault. His skeletal defense would shatter around him as his eyes deactivated and went back to his normal white orbs. He would offer Fauna a wide smile, “Well, you managed to break through my Susano’o. That’s quite the feat! I knew you were stronger than you thought! That was quite a display of power.” he had to admit her jutsu was highly impressive and for one who didn’t belong to a clan to be capable of destroying even the first ranking of a Susano’o was an amazing accomplishment.

It was a great effort from all, but eventually, she saw cracks appearing in the Susanoo's rib cage; her plan was working, but before she put the final blow, Kirei used the remaining parts of Susanoo to swing one of its arms, easily blowing through her clones and slamming her backwards, loosing both arms as she brought them together to help protect herself as she was thrown back, but quickly using the remaining arm to pin herself to the ground before she got too much momentum, although the arms were destroyed up to the shoulder and they sparked like a exposed electrical wire.

Yet, as she looked up, she saw the Susanoo shatter apart as Kirei deactivated the Rinnegan, his eyes returning to the colour she remembered them being at and as she floated down, releasing the Greater Manifestation jutsu, he congratulated her for managing to break through his Susanoo's defense. She panted and winced as she returned to normal as she released the gates, sealing them away, yet even as she felt some of her bones were cracked, the black blood in her body was already underway to repairing the damage and it focused on her legs first so she was able to stand properly.

"Ha...Ha...thanks Kirei, although I know it wasn't Susanoo's full form, I'm pleased at least it could at least match it at least in some regard. At least gives me some hope for dealing with stuff like this in the future, so I have to thank you for helping with this, Kirei; how about as a reward, I take you for dinner, how does that sound?" She smiled softly, the pain of her injuries from opening the gates didn't bother her that much and she felt better, knowing at least she had something in her back pocket capable of dealing or at least have a somewhat even fight with the legendary Susanoo. Besides, she wanted to pay him back for helping her and taking the young man out for dinner seemed fair enough.

Kirei nodded to the woman, he was pleased that she was able to gain at the very least a little confidence and knowledge about her techniques and their limitations from their training today. He had also gained a lot from this interaction in the way of knowing the capabilities of the first level of his Susano'o ability. She offered to take him to dinner, he would have to agree, it was only polite after all, not to mention that he felt grateful to her as well for aiding him in a mostly unseen way. "Sure, I'd like that, Sensei. I'll meet you at the city square an hour after sunset and we can decide where to eat, does that sound good?" He offered his idea of a plan so they would be able to go home, wash up and get properly prepared for a more formal night on the town than they were at the moment. Even just holding the Susano'o for the first time had left him sweaty and sore, though she was certainly worse for wear than he, he also knew she would probably appreciate the opportunity to clean up. Should she agree, he would smile to her, wave and then make his way to the village to get cleaned up and rest a bit.

She smiled softly and nodded.

"Sure, that will give me enough time for me to regenerate from the effects of the eight gates, I'll see you then, Kirei" She said softly, waving the young boy as he left, leaving her alone on the scarred bank of the river where their spar had just taken place, although she still wondered how Kirei possessed the Rinnegan within such a small space of time, maybe it was something she could inquire about at dinner since she was curious about how he went from a promising young genin to a boy capable of using the Rinnegan and it was one of those nagging questions that wouldn't let go till she asked it.

"But plenty of time to prepare before dinner so my black blood can repair my bones and damage caused by the gates; even though I managed to break through Susanoo's defense, doing so takes a lot from me; I have to get strong enough to break it without needing to use the eight gates all the time, but I know at least against it's first form, I stand at least a bit of a chance and that's enough for now, I'd best get going" She said, using the water stepping technique to run up the waterfall, the pain in her legs already going down when she reached the top and headed back to the village to prepare for dinner with Kirei.
